Analogue Systems
Analogue CCTV systems have been around for decades and are still being widely installed today. There are still technological advances being made with regards to camera performance (Video resolution, low light performance, noise reduction etc) however analogue recording devices such as Multiplexers and Time Lapse Recorders are becoming obsolete. These units are now being replaced by Digital Video Recorders (DVR’s) which can provide constant, quality recording without the need to change/renew video cassettes.

Digital/I.P Based Systems
Modern Digital CCTV systems can be linked to anywhere delivering clear, live images reliably and quickly to help prevent crime. Remote, live viewing of cameras is achievable from any location on an existing network or via the Internet allowing systems to be monitored like never before.

Hybrid Systems
Hybrid systems provide the user with the benefits of both Analogue and I.P technologies. A Hybrid Digital recorder can be installed in place of an existing DVR or Multiplexer/Video Recorder. In addition to this, future Analogue and I.P cameras can be added at any time. This provides and extremely cost effective upgrade solution with the added benefit of being able to choose the correct camera type for each application.

Infrastructure
Infrastructure is the means of interconnection between the components of a system. In CCTV terms it relates to the use of cabling such as Coaxial, Twisted Pair or Fibre optic but can also include Wireless technologies.

Remote Monitoring
The Remote Monitoring of a CCTV systems is an extremely cost effective security solution. Due to the current financial climate landlords, building managers, site owners and tenants alike are all trying to reduce ongoing costs. Video Content Analytics (VCA)
VCA is the capability of automatically analysing video. Specific algorithms are used to analyse and identify occurrence’s within the video content. These could be occurrences such as motion detection, motion tracking, people/vehicle/item counting, identification, behaviour or situation analysis. When an occurrence is detected it can be then be used to trigger alarms, reposition cameras, remotely report events or control third party equipment. This is a relatively new technology but it can greatly increase the functionality and effectiveness of a CCTV system and reduce the possibility of incidents being missed by operators.

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
ANPR uses optical character recognition to read vehicle registration plates. The information can then be used to allow/deny access, create time and attendance or muster reports, manage vehicle parking or purely for security purposes.
